Andrew, Adria, Judah and Josiah Medlen
Andrew was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, and graduated from Manhattan Christian College with a degree in Family Ministry. Adria was born in Southern California and was raised in both Camarillo, California, and Houston, Texas. She graduated from California State University Channel Islands with a degree in English.
Both having a burden for the city and a call to serve the poor, they moved directly after graduation to World Impact’s ministry in St. Louis, Missouri. Andrew has served with World Impact since 2001, Adria since 2006. During their years in St. Louis, they were married and adopted their son, Judah (born December 2008). It was during this time that they both fell in love with the city and the people of St. Louis, as well as felt God reinforce their call to serve the urban poor through church planting.
In August of 2012, they relocated to Wichita, Kansas, to serve with The Urban Ministry Institute, a leadership training branch of World Impact. It was an amazing time of growth and clarification of their call to help facilitate church planting movements among the urban poor and, in June of 2013, they transitioned to the World Impact Wichita ministry to help especially with the church planting efforts. The Medlen family welcomed their second son, Josiah, in October 2014.
After several years in Wichita, partnering to develop ministry in local prisons, the Christ the Victor Church Planting movement, the World Impact launch in Topeka, Kansas, and various other regional ministry opportunities, the Medlens are returning to St. Louis early in 2017. They are excited to be directing the renewal of ministry efforts in the city of St. Louis and reengage in what the Lord is doing there!
